Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Sunday, May 29th, 2005

Went to Cinestar on Saturday evening…after a hot-Saturday was over…
We decided that it was time for us to see the last sequence of the Star Wars’ Saga…:)
Hmm..I thought that the cinema would be full of people, considering..well..it is Saturday night after all…but on contraire…the cinema was not as crowded as I thought it would be…maybe not all of Dutch’s younglings go to see a movie on Saturday Night..hahaha..
Anyway..the movie itself..it was great…as I expected…I could give a good review about the movie..:))…actually..I recommend everyone to go to your nearest theaters and see this movie..:))
Here are some things that I really like about the movie:

  • THE SETTINGS - of course!!!

  • YODA - he’s the little-cute-green creature who is I think the most talented Jedi ever!!!!

  • Th54844_r

R2 - the cutest and the funniest robot I have ever seen..!!!..In this episode, it did some funny   stuff too!!!

  • PADME’s STARSHIP - Woooowwww!!! You must see it..it’s glittering!!!..hahaha…Coooolllll!!!!

  • Th93824_r

and of course…THE LIGHT SABERS!!!!..if you look closely, Yoda’s Light Sabers is the only one which is green…just like him!..:)

And here is the synopsis of the story:
Three years after the initial battle of the Clone Wars, the long and
tiring conflict between the Separatists and the Republic is nearing its
end. However, Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a Jedi Master, and Anakin Skywalker,
now a Jedi Knight, learn a shocking development. Coruscant is under
attack! They hurry back to Coruscant to counter the attack led by
General Grievous, the leader of the Separatist droid armies, and a much
bigger threat than even Count Dooku, a former Jedi turned Sith. They
are now charged with bringing him to justice, but there is more going
on than just an attack on the center of the Republic. Little by little,
Chancellor Palpatine transforms the Republic into a tyrannical regime,
putting him at odds with the Jedi Order and a few non-corrupt senators,
who have all grown weary of his staying in power. Anakin, on the other
hand, has grown closer to Palpatine, but he also suffers from
disturbing visions of his wife-in-secret, Senator Padme Amidala. He has
been leaning closer and closer to the dark side since before the Clone
Wars began, and Palpatine encourages him to embrace it. When it all
comes down to it, Obi-Wan Kenobi will have no choice but to face his
former apprentice in battle, and as the Clone Wars end, the seeds will
be sown for yet another conflict which will determine the fate of the
galaxy

Nervosa!

Friday, May 27th, 2005

This week, besides the fact that the weather has been very warm all week..(now it is actually HOT!!!!)..and I’ve also been feeling quite drowsy almost every day - which I think it was because of the medicine (XYZAL) intake once a day -, it has been quite busy and I also felt quite nervous the whole week waiting for the VUA interview’s result.
In my understanding, I suppose to expect to hear from them around this week…but now it is Friday, 3.14pm, and still no words from them what so ever….oooohhh…how annoying!!!
I thought that I could relax through the weekend, but now…hmmm..how am I supposed to relax???
I think I’m going to get a nervous breakdown..hahaha…coz, this afternoon, returning from ROC, I found a letter from VUA in my mailbox…and it was quite thick..believe me…the entire time I have lived here, I’ve never received any rejection letter this thick!!!!
So, I thought that this might be the letter which I’ve been waiting for…
But..hmm..my instinct was way off…
It was actually a letter informing me that the faculty has received my application (this is for another PhD position which I applied a few days ago), and they sent along the project’s description…
Hmm..I was quite disappointed, but this might also be another chance for me…
So, OK….IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT I AM GOING TO FACE A LONG AND NERVE-WRECKING WEEKEND THIS TIME…:((

Went to the Doctor

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

So, finally, yesterday I went to the the doctor to check-up what’s wrong with me.
It is like a Customin the Netherlands - well, at least at UT - you have to see a nurse first before actually go and see a GP (or what people here called it Huisarts or in Indonesia people called it Dokter Umum). The nurses are available only between 8.30-10.00am. This means that I had to get up early and biked all the way to the centrum.
The medical centre is called GEZONDHEIDSCENTRUM VELDPOORT (Veldpoort Health Centre) and it lies in the city centre, near Dish Hotel.
From home to the health centre is about 15minutes by bike.
Fortunately, yesterday wasn’t too cold in the morning.
Since Agoes was also curious with my condition, so he insisted on tagging along to see the nurse (despite the fact that he was actually afraid that if he let me biking by myself, I could fall down or something even worst..:(…he doesn’t trust me, I reckon!)
Anyway, when we finally got there and saw the nurse, at first we thought that the nurse is going to refer us directly to one of the GPs that morning, just like what we’ve experienced before.
But instead, she referred us to one of the GP’s for the afternoon session. It means that I have to come back there around 14.40 for my appointment.
So, we went back home and I got to do some errands around the house.
At 2pm, we biked back to the health centre and waited a while before I could see Dr. Bonnema, my GP.
When I saw her, I explained what my complaints are and also I brought with me the results and medicine receipt which I received in Indonesia. She was very nice. After she examined my ears, she said that fortunately my ear-drums are fine, there are no damage to those two. However, she suspected the same as Alka’s mom, that I had allergic reaction to something which caused a disturbance to the back of the ear’s area, which controls my balance.
In addition, the vertigo is maybe also caused by a virus which lead to what she referred to it as VESTIBULITIS‘. She also said that if this condition getting worsen, I would have been suffered severely.
Therefore, she prescribed me the same medication that Alka’s mom had given me before. She said that we will try this medication for one month. And if the symptoms come back while I am on medication or if the condition relapses, she wants me to come back to see her and then she will see if it is necessary to refer me to a specialist.
Waaaa…I didn’t know that it could be that serious…c’mon..it’s only a slight-lost-of-hearing..!!!!
Anyway..now I have to take the medicine everyday..and it makes me feel sleepy…whoaaammm!!!!
- Like now…I am very sleepy…so I have to have another cup of coffee???? -

Emmen Zoo

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

As usual, during weekends, it is always hard for me to spend times in front of the computer without Agoes looking over my shoulders…so I decided to spare some of the stories to be written AFTER the weekend..like this one for example..
On Saturday, eventhough my ears still felt hurt, but I decided not to stay home any longer…so I begged…and begged…and begged Agoes to let me go with him to the market to shop for some groceries…as an excuse..I told him that we had ran out of everything!!!..hehehe…(- if you know me well-enough..this thing is very much impossible - red-)
After seeing that the weather seemed fine, and it was not too cold outside, Agoes allowed me to come with him, biking to the centrum of Enschede. But I had to wear my pet-hat to cover my ears..:((
So, that day, we went cycling to the centrum and did our shopping successfully..without any casualties that is…hehehe..
On Saturday night, Agoes decided to take me to the Emmen Zoo the next day, under the condition if I’m not sick, and if the weather is fine.
Fortunately, the weather was great the next day and I didn’t have any complaints about my health..
So, we went to the train station around 8am and tried to catch the 8.27am train to Emmen.
In order to reach Emmen at that time, it is fastest to go through Deventer rather than go straight to Zwolle and change train there.
The downside though from going through Deventer was that we had to get out and change train 2 times, first in Deventer and second in Zwolle.
But it took us only about 2.5hours to get to Emmen. That was not too bad I reckon…
So we made it to Emmen Station around 11am. After that we had to walk about 15 minutes through the centrum of Emmen to reach the zoo.
The zoo is divided into two locations. The big one, the first one that we visited, is located near the centrum while the other one is located outside the centrum.
The zoo has a lot of animals (obviously..hahaha..)..among others: butterflies, asian’s elephants (I don’t know where they really come from..:)), giraffes (cute ones), kangaroos (lazy ones..), monkeys (lots and lots of them), prairie dogs (lots and lots of them too, but I saw one of them just lying on the ground as if he is dying or something and two others as if they were showing off to the crowd..), bears (there were two of them..and they were playing in the pool..so cute!!!), penguins (so strange..because when we were at the zoo, it was quite warm..and the penguins were ok! I thought they are creatures of the winter..), and many more.
You can see me at the zoo..and check out the cool and funny pics from the zoo in my photo album!!
We stayed at the zoo until around 3pm and went back to the station to catch the train. Fortunately, when we walked back to the station, there was the train waiting and just about to leave actually…pheewwwwww!!!! We made it home around 6 pm..and I immediately took a shower ‘coz I think I smell like zoo…huaaaaa!!!

Important day, Deafness and Absenteeism

Friday, May 20th, 2005

Yesterday I didn’t had a chance to write anything…not because I was busy or anything, it was just that time flies when you had so many things in your head and had some many housework to do..
I managed to do some laundries, went shopping some groceries and watched some movies…TV series actually which I had to catch up…:)
I did all of that and also I had a chance to chat with Yani and Mas Len…quite interesting conversations we had…
Additionally, yesterday was also an important day for Agoes, since he had a test at ACCENTURE NL. So he had to wake up very early yesterday just to be there on time and had his 40minutes test. Its office is in Amsterdam, right across Booz Allen’s office and just 3 stations away from Vrije Universiteit..
So, knowing that, it would be nice if I got accepted at Vrije Universiteit and Agoes got accepted at Accenture NL, so our offices would be close, and we could try to find a place near Amsterdam..:))
But a bad thing happened this morning. As I woke up very early this morning - in the spirit of preparing myself to go to school - I suddenly felt that something is wrong with me, ‘coz as I stood up, I was kinda going to fell down…it was like I suddenly lost my balance..fortunately I didn’t fell..
And not long after that, I sensed that my right ear couldn’t hear very well…it was liked when you were swimming and you got water stuck inside you ear…Naaahh…that how it feels like. But instead of water it was air that got stuck in my ear..
And I think it is contagious, coz it was spreading to my other ear…sniff….
I know that the best thing to do is to go to a doctor and all, and Agoes also insisted me on going, but I couldn’t bear myself to get out of bed, take a shower, get dress and go biking to UT and see a nurse in the horrible weather outside..
I could picture how the wind would blow and stroke my ear…and it would be painful for me..:((
So I refused to go to UT this morning to see the nurse and make a doctor appointment. And because of this, I think Agoes was a little mad at me, but it is out of concern of course…:))
I also sms-ed Alka about this and asked him favor to ask his mom about my situation..what should I do..And his mother told him that I should see a doctor (naturally!!!) and I also shouldn’t move my neck a lot.. (What??!?? I didn’t understand the reason for this one..)..but I appreciate it..and I promise I would make the appointment..
And the consequence of my action for refusing to go to the doctor is that I have to suffer from mild-temporarily-deafness for a whole weekend I suppose, since we couldn’t see the doctor today or during the weekend…Jammer!!!
Another consequence is that I couldn’t go to school because of this..:((
I feel quite ashamed..because I have only been to school twice, and already I am absent..:((
That’s a new record for me..
Well…hopefully I will be better soon…so I could enjoy and appreciate the voices around me again..:))

First Day

Tuesday, May 17th, 2005

First day back to school!!!!
Wuahhh…nice to be back to a new routine…I think I was too excited this morning, when I got up at 5 and with all the energy I had, I cleaned and prepared my first day back to school.
I was supposed to be at school, registering myself at 8.45, so I had to get on the bus at least 8.05…
Unlike any other day, today I ate breakfast!!! Quite a breakthrough there…:)..had my morning coffee, and once again check my school-bag, see if I got everything I need inside, and then stared in front of the computer until it’s time to go to school…:)
It seems almost like when a child going to primary school for the first time…
I would ride my bike to school, but it would take me about 45minutes biking to get there, and besides, I forget the route to get there..
Additionally, Agoes also afraid that I would get lost and not get there in time…and also other things which I just think that he is too paranoia if it comes to me!!!!
Anyway, when I arrived there, I don’t know why, I instantly attract other Indonesian’s attention..hehehe…is it so obvious???
Apparently she is also from Bandung, but she has been studying there for 8 months now.
When I entered the classroom, there were 17 people in this class, and I am the only Indonesian in this group..^^
And then suddenly, to my surprise, I was re-united with my former classmate from UT..Anna, the Russian lady who was quite annoying back than. But since she’s the only one I know in this class, probably I should change my perception about her and accept her as a person who is NOT annoying anymore..hehehe…
Overall, it was a nice experience and I am looking forward to tomorrow’s class…

Pinksterdag?

Monday, May 16th, 2005

Today is a national holiday called Pinksterdag.
Don’t ask me what it is, coz I wouldn’t know…even Agoes who has been living here for almost 6 years doesn’t know either.!!!
I tried to find some information about it, and I can only come up with one conclusion…it is a religious-holiday..
Huh?? Religious?? The Dutch probably only like it coz it is a holiday, since we all know that this country is the most Atheist-populated country in the world…hahaha…so probably they wouldn’t even know the meaning of this PINKSTERDAG is either..:)
Anyway…since today is a holiday, the consequence is that I am stuck with Agoes in our apartment the whole day…supported also with the un-friendly weather outside..*sobs*..
I was planning on riding my bike today to learn the route to my future school…but as I said, the weather is sooooo un-friendly, the plan has to be canceled!!!!
What a drag..!! And to add to all of this…I also suffer from a cramp I’m having….oooo…please!!!!

Kingdom of Heaven

Sunday, May 15th, 2005

Yesterday was a bust!
Friendster was under maintenance..so I couldn’t put my ideas here…damn!!!
And today…finally, I went out of the house..riding my bike in the rain to see Orlando Bloom’s new movie Kingdom of Heaven.
My comment was… WOW!!! What a great movie..this is a must seen movie.!!!
I think it’s a 2 hour-movie..I am not sure..I lost track of time watching it…
For me it is a wonderful movie..I love it!! But some say that Europeans don’t like this movie, because of reasons I couldn’t reveal..hehehe….
Anyway…guys..please watch you…it will inspire you!!..the history, the epic-picture..COOL..!!!!
That was the up-side of today’s story.
Another one is about my best friend and my best-friend’s son birthday party…
I heard it went great…Iphien got to blow up her candle or I must say candles :) next to Naren’s and Dandy’s birthday cakes…:)…it must have been a funny seen…2 children and a grown-up blew up candles..:)
Anyway..happy birthday guys…I hope today was a blast!!!!
Another hilarious thing was went Agoes bought the ticket for watching the movie.
When he asked the girl that sells the ticket for two tickets, first she asked if we want to be seated in a ‘love seat’. We didn’t see that is necessary, so we refused. But then, she saw me standing behind Agoes and then she excused herself to ask my age. Duh!!! I think, since this is a R-Rated movie, she thought that I was under 18 or something..So I told her that I am 28 - yeah..I am that old - older than you!!!…
Later on Agoes and I laughed about it..and joked that perhaps she thought that I was Agoes’ daughter or something…:P
So..the conclusion is that I am a 28 year old girl trapped in a 18 year old body!!..hahaha…it is all because the girl said that I was little!!!!..Please…..

De Ja Vu…:)

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Wowww…what a de ja vu….!!
Today I remembered how it felt like when I was studying here…
Phewww….it was hard to ride a bike again after vacuumed for quite sometimes…:)
My legs were soared…and a Little bit cramped..:(
But it was nice to have an exercise now and then…
I have to train myself again I guess..if not..I would be spoiling myself forever..how embarrassing!!!!
I probably didn’t bike too much today…just went to the centrum..and did some groceries…
Don’t make me start talking about the groceries…it was heavy…..:)
But it was nice..biking under the sun…today is one of those days where there is a lot of sun..but not too cold..hmm..I might say that today is a typical spring-day…I love it!!!
What else…hmm…ooh…I did finally go to the bank to activate my bank-card..and what a surprise when someone from the bank asked me to a separate room to have a talk with him…I was scared at first..I thought I owed the bank money or something…
It turned out that they wanted to make me a new bank account..an internet bank account to be exact..probably because they look at my internet banking activities..which is quite..hmm..intensive I might say..hehehe…
But the whole time the man was talking to me…honestly..I almost couldn’t understand what he was saying…I don’t whether my understanding of English language is very poor or his English is really bad!!!!
Anyway…I am quite satisfied when I heard that I will receive an interest of 0.60% higher than the one I got now…hehehe…sooo money oriented!!!…:)…an to add things to it..it doesn’t cost me anything to open this new account..phewwww….

Ordinary days…

Thursday, May 12th, 2005

This is how it looks like…my daily routines as a housewife??
Noooo…..it is too depressing to think of those things!!
However, I am trying to except things as they are now…who am I to complain?? I chose this..now I just have to stick with it..
Mau tauk lebih banyak…gue bangun pagi, beres-beres dapur…a.k.a, ngosongin rack cucian piring, terus buka-bukain jendela seluruh apartment, and then…if my hubby has gotten-up, I could then make-up the bed..after that I will wait my turn to take a shower..and then..I clean the whole apartment..
It seems quite simple…and it does…but after that..I just sit in front of the computer and browse in all day long!!!
the consequence?? I seldom have headache!!!
Well, yesterday I didn’t spend that much time in front of the computer..I went out for about 1-2hours..just to stretch my legs actually…and to smoke..(hihihi…coz u know..I am not allowed to smoke inside the apartment - by my hubby that is - I usually smoke at the door..hahaha!!)..so  I put on my jacket and bring along my mobile and my new ipod-mini!!..and then I was on my way!!
I went out to post a mail, because I am still applying for some jobs here..and after that I went to 3 different kind of supermarkets just trying to look for a jar of coffee…Unfortunately, I was failed!!!
They don’t have the coffee I was looking for..well..not exactly..they have it..it just that they don’t have the right jar-size which I was looking for.
so i went home with disappointment..:((
Enough about yesterday…
Something incredibly insightful happens today…
I received a message and when I browsed the message, I accidentally found my cousin’s log on the internet..
I was curious, so I opened it and looked at her picture..and read her stories..
Hmm..my comment was..hmm..She’s definitely has changed..her appearance, her lifestyle perhaps..
And I reflected to my self..and now I understand why ..when people see me, they would say either I haven’t changed a bit..or they have nothing to say!!!
I see myself..and see the transformation of my cousin. Hmm…I look the same as before..and I dress the same..my appearance is still the same!!!
Wow…what a drag that was!!!! Could I updgrade my look?? How??????
